‘Garden Village’

Sophisticated Apartment Living

 …

History

The original project commenced in the early 1990’s when the late Dr Peter Lush, John Harlow and Peter Hutchinson saw an opportunity to create two bedroom units in a very central location, easy walking distance to the CBD. The first four units were sold quickly. A further four units were then constructed and sales were somewhat difficult in an economic downturn, however they all sold over a period of time.

After discovering a need in the real estate market for larger apartments suitable for retirees, Inge took on the managing role as Development Co-Ordinator, designing spacious and freestanding apartments.

Three modern apartments have been built, and each has been sold.  There is provision for a further four apartments to be built on their own detached lots. Enquire below.

The Apartments

While every apartment is unique, there are some common features about the ‘Garden Village’ design.

All apartments are modern and sophisticated, yet functional. They are designed to make you feel like you are living in a larger home, however you have all the advantages of apartment living.

Each apartment has a spacious living area with a northern aspect and large windows, allowing the light and warmth to flow through the house. The living space can be extended out to the private, sunny alfresco dining area.

The innovative storage spaces are an asset to the ‘Garden Village’ design. The kitchen has state of the art cupboard technology and the storage within the kitchen has the capacity to triple conventional storage space. The bedrooms include Inge’s signature vanity cupboards and walk in wardrobes, and the laundry has adjustable cupboard space to ensure a clutter free space.

Other features include:

  • Apartments can vary between two and three bedrooms
  • The master bedroom has ensuite and walk in robe
  • Insulated and sound proof walls
  • Insulated ceilings
  • Double garage which can be turned into an alternative living space if needed
  • Robin Hood ironing centre
  • Security doors that don’t hinder the view
  • Back area completely fenced for privacy and security
  • Sky lights providing natural light
  • Gas heating or reverse cycle air conditioning available, or both if required for maximum flexibility.

Owners Comment:

After Lucinda and Carissa had both moved out of home, we knew it was time to downsize from ‘Sherwood Lodge’.  The tenants had just vacated from Apartment 10, and we took the opportunity to move into ‘Garden Village’. We lived there for a couple of years and enjoyed the benefits of everything ‘Garden Village’ has to offer. It’s amazing what can be achieved with clever use of space and design!

An easy short walk to Armidale CBD is a real benefit.
