Peter and Inge saw this property as a great opportunity to secure an older style 3 bedroom home in a good location, but in need of full renovation.

The dwelling originally had bedrooms on the northern side, and a lounge room on the southern side of the house. However this was the first thing to change, and the spaces were reversed.

The walls from the former bedrooms were knocked down to create an open living area that flows into the kitchen, and large windows were installed on the northern side to capture the light and warmth from the sun. The living area opens out onto a large timber deck, creating the perfect additional living space, filled with ambience.

The new kitchen was re-designed to be efficient in space and has Inge’s signature cupboards built in to the island bench. Storage is also maximized in the walk in pantry.

The single garage was converted into a double office for Peter and Inge, and is affectionately referred to as ‘The Hub’.  A double carport was added to the side of the house for flexibility and efficient use of space.

This renovation has many other features, some of which include;

• Original polished floorboards
• Large walk in store room
• Brand new ensuite
• Robin Hood ironing centre
• Establishment of gardens that commenced with a ‘blank canvas’; both flowers and a substantial vegie patch.

Owners Comments:  After living at ‘Garden Village‘ for a number of years, and finishing another Apartment within that complex, it became time to move on as Peter had retired from full time real estate agency work. Inge started planning this renovation as a place for us to call home. While this home is a perfect size for us, the extended living spaces and additional workspace allows for plenty of room when the adult children come home to visit or the grandchildren stay.

We found completing this project very satisfying, and have created a home that brings us much enjoyment.
