Contemporary Tuscan Home

This large family home was built with a contemporary Tuscan influence. The late Kerry Hawkins, and Inge Hutchinson completed the project in 2000. Spaciously designed with 4 levels, 3 bedrooms (including a multi-purpose room which can be easily transformed to a 4th bedroom), multi-purpose study area for the entire family, and northern indoor and outdoor living areas.

It was in this project that Inge crafted her innovative and signature wardrobe design, which allows for absolute flexibility, efficient use of space, and is adaptable for changing needs.

The location had been chosen because of its very central position overlooking the Dumaresq Creek and parklands, only a block from the CBD of Armidale.

Inge’s attention to detail has ensured this design stands out from other homes, some of these features include:

• Copious and innovative storage space from ‘dead space’, i.e. walk in storage space in the roof
• Large open plan kitchen with pull out pantry in addition to a walk in pantry
• Double garage with plenty of storage space, which could be transformed into an another living area if needed

Owners Comments: It was a lot of fun to unpack into a brand new home in September of 2000. It was such a wonderful family home whilst Lucinda and Carissa were growing up and at school, with friends dropping in all the time. We loved the spaciousness and flexibility of this home, and enjoyed our Sunday morning alfresco breakfasts overlooking the garden and outdoor water feature.

But there comes a time when children grow up and head in other directions, and parents need to downsize. It was a sad day we decided to move, however we knew it was time for our next adventure.
